Prof. Aasim I. Padela is Professor with Tenure of Emergency Medicine, Bioethics and the Medical Humanities at the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA. He holds teaching and research appointments in the Center for Bioethics and Medical Humanities within the Institute for Health and Equity, at the Center for Advancing Population Science, and in the Cancer Center. He is also a classically trained scholar is Islam. Dr. Padela’s scholarship aims at improving health and healthcare through better accommodating religious values in healthcare delivery. His research span behaviours related to cancer screening, organ donation, end-of-life care, and the intersection of religion and science.

Amir is a Neonatal Consultant working at the Royal Women’s Hospital in Melbourne. He studied Medicine at the University of Melbourne, and has completed a Masters of Practical Ethics at Oxford University and a Fiqh of Medicine course with Al Balagh Academy in the UK.
